  Not bad at all!
When I first started riding at Glen Jakes I thought it was great, because there are two arenas, some of the horses are easy to get going, and beginners have leaders. They do really good parties, and during December you have mini gymkhanas instead of lessons. You can hack out, or ride in the fields, and they do a walk out with leaders for beginners. They do stable management and 'own a pony' days too. Some of the ponies are less forward-going but at least it's good exercise(!) and safe for beginners. Mums and Dads can see both arenas from indoors, where you can get a hot drink and crisps etc. I think it is a fabulous place to start riding, so I've given it a 4!

  Could do better
Glen Jakes should be ashamed!!!! None of the horses are
properly looked after, they are all filthy, their tack does not fit well and
is in need of a good clean. They are all over worked, tired and extreamly
bored, this is proved when all of the instructors have to teach using lunge
whips to keep the horses moving! It is just cruel and there is no other word
for it! There is only 1 instructor that is qualified to teach and she only
works part time. The lessons are inconsistant and the facilities are very
poor, in the winter both menages flood so you end up riding round in a
swamp!! Glen Jakes is the lowest of the low!!!!

  Needs improvement
I dont think Glen Jakes is a 1 as it does have nice staff and good ponies but they do need to let the ponies have longer rests as they do get very tired.

  Extremely average
Glen Jakes is quite expensive. There are only 2 outside arenas so whatever the weather you're going to be in it!!
The horses plod around with no interest in it at all. I was on a horse once that got scared by a bird flying and once when I was riding it chased after another horse to bite it!! Once this horse did not do at all what I made it do. I was sweating buckets to make it turn and they didn't even give me a crop even though there are tons on the floor. I thought I should have been given my money back for sure.
Although some of the girls that work there are very nice but one of the instructors shouts very much and made me feel that I was rubbish.
